Richard was born in San Francisco and raised in the East Bay. He went down to UC Irvine for college and worked as a Civil Engineer. After leaving the engineering field to be a missionary in South East Asia, over time, Rich sensed more and more, a call and conviction from God to return to the Bay Area to advance the Gospel in the hearts of his home area.​ In 2008, he enrolled at Westminster Seminary California in San Diego.

 

In 2013, Richard was ordained as an Assistant Pastor at New Life Presbyterian in Southern California. But responding to the call and conviction to minister in the Bay Area, Richard served as a Church Planting Apprentice at New Life Fremont from 2014-2019. Now, he is a church planter and pastor of Risen Hayward. 

 

Richard is married to his amazing wife, Jen, who works as a Product Designer. She loves to draw, travel, hang out, and play with Champ, their cockapoo, and their son, Luke.

 

In his free time, Richard likes to play and watch basketball and soccer, hang out with friends, and get some reading in with a cup of joe.
